Zepp, the app
The Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen has a new digital attraction. We have developed the ZeppGuide - an app that makes a visit to the museum more interactive, more personal and more inclusive.
Tailor-made tours, multimedia variety and: Games!
The ZeppGuide is more than just an audio guide. It offers curated tours based on individual interests and time budgets. Visitors can choose from various routes that take them through the permanent exhibitions on technology and art. Each station is accompanied by fascinating background information in the form of text or audio files in German, English and French.
In addition to the classic tours, the app offers a look behind the scenes. It integrates short video tours, episodes from the museum podcasts and articles from the blog to shed light on topics and objects from different perspectives. Interactive mini-games provide a playful break in between.
Focus on inclusivity: accessibility implemented digitally
Accessibility was a key aspect in the design of the ZeppGuide. The app not only offers a tour in German sign language, but also content in simple language. Special features are integrated for blind and visually impaired visitors, including atmospheric room descriptions, detailed directions and extensive audio descriptions of individual objects. This ensures that the museum can be experienced by everyone.
Interaction and sharing: A digital souvenir
The ZeppGuide offers visitors the opportunity to record their personal highlights. Favorite images and objects can be saved in a favorites list and easily shared with friends and family. New content and tours are continuously added to the app based on user feedback collected directly via the app or by email.
Teamwork makes the dream work
With the ZeppGuide, we have created a modern digital tool in close cooperation with the museum team. It makes a visit to the Zeppelin Museum intuitive, informative and personal and allows visitors to experience the history of airship travel and the art collection in a new, interactive way. The concept, design and front-end programming of the WebApp came from us, in cooperation with our friends from Prepublic, who took care of the native components of the app available in the Apple App Store and Google Playstore for iOS and Android.
