A real piece of Hamburg

StadtRAD is the public bike rental service of the city of Hamburg. We completely supervised a blog project accompanying this - including editing and photo shooting.

In February 2019, everything changed at StadtRAD. With new bikes, new stations and new rental technology, a complete relaunch of the service was planned. A circumstance that naturally required communication preparation and support. Financed by the Hamburg Senate, operated by our client Deutsche Bahn Connect GmbH on the »Call a Bike« platform.

Our suggestion: A blog in which StadtRAD users present tours to their personal favourite places in Hamburg and share them with readers.

It was important for us to accompany real people to real places. This was obvious because StadtRAD Hamburg is the most used regional bike rental system in Germany. So there are many real fans - and we wanted to make them visible.

For this purpose, interesting protagonists had to be recruited, interviewed and photographed on their tours through the city. Editor Ina Bohse and photographer Thomas Straub helped us with this. We took care of the concept, art direction and final editing of the texts.

In addition, a Wordpress blog had to be set up and designed with a fresh look and useful features (interactive tour map!) to help users rediscover the city from a bicycle.

For ourselves, the project was a great insight into the city of Hamburg and its people. For all those who want to refresh their personal Hamburg feeling, our tip: read the blog, rent a StadtRAD and go!
